Cognitive Skills

With thinking techniques, we learn to work with the mental activities you use to process information, make connections, make decisions and create new ideas. You use your thinking skills when you try to understand experiences, solve problems, make decisions, ask questions, make plans or organise information.
Everyone has certain thinking skills, but not everyone uses them equally effectively. Effective thinkers see opportunities where others see only obstacles. Good thinkers are able to make connections between different factors and relate them to each other. They are also able to develop new and unique solutions to problems.
In this series of courses, you will learn to make a logical series of connections between various chunks of information. This could be about how to solve a problem or make a decision.
Memory training, analysing, synthesising, categorising, systematising, evaluating and problem solving are also covered in these courses.
