Als je door negatieve stress wordt overvallen, dan kan je altijd terugvallen op een positief anker. Het vergt wat oefenen en toch zal je verloop van tijd de kracht ervan ervaren.
Anchoring positivity refers to the process of associating a specific stimulus with a positive emotional response. Here are steps to anchor positivity:
- Choose an Anchor: This can be a physical action, such as touching your thumb and index finger together, or a mental image or sound.
- Recall a Positive Experience: Think of a moment when you felt really happy, proud, or satisfied. Relive this moment in your mind, remembering all the details and emotions.
- Set the Anchor: While immersing yourself in that positive emotion, activate the chosen anchor (e.g. by pressing your thumb and index finger together).
- Repeat: To strengthen the anchor, repeat this process several times, each time linking the same action to the same positive emotion.
- Test the Anchor: After setting the anchor, wait a while and then activate the anchor again. If done right, you should feel a surge of that positive emotion.
- Use the Anchor: In future situations when you need a boost of positivity, activate the anchor to evoke that positive emotion.
With regular practice and using the anchor in different situations, the association becomes stronger and can be an effective tool to evoke positivity when you need it most.
