Three Point Attention
As a trainer, coach or facilitator, we focus our attention three aspects: self, others and the whole. We call this "Three Point Attention". These three aspects must be balanced to create a safe space in which participants feel comfortable and can communicate openly.

First of all, it is important to pay attention to yourself as a facilitator. Are you in an optimal state to guide this group of people? This means being physically, mentally and emotionally present. It is important to know and respect your own limits so that you can participate in the group in a healthy way.

Secondly, it is important to be attentive to the others in the group. Are all participants alert, active and engaged? Are there certain people with specific needs you need to consider? It is important to be attentive to the individual needs of each participant so that everyone feels heard and respected.

Finally, it is important to pay attention to the whole. Is the space suitable and safe? Are there no disruptors that could interfere with communication? By paying attention to the whole, you can ensure that participants are in a safe and comfortable environment where they can communicate openly.

As a facilitator, it is important to balance these three aspects and pay attention to the relationship between self, others and the whole. By balancing these three aspects, you can create a safe space where participants feel free to express their thoughts and feelings.
