Affirmations
'Affirmation' essentially involves the verbal affirmation and reinforcement of empowering beliefs. The process of affirmation involves the repetition of a set of beliefs. In many ways, affirmations are a fundamental example of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). They use language to establish and promote positive mental 'programming'.
Health:
- "Every day I feel stronger and healthier."
- "My body has the natural ability to repair and renew."
- "I choose food that promotes my well-being and increases my energy."
Success:
- "I am able to achieve my goals and celebrate every victory."
- "Success is a process and I am on the right track."
- "With every step I take, I open new doors to opportunities."
Love and relationships:
- "I am surrounded by love and everything is possible."
- "I build deep and meaningful relationships."
- "Every day, I grow in my ability to give and receive love."
Financial independence:
- "I make wise financial choices that contribute to my independence."
- "Money flows easily and abundantly to me."
- "I am worthy of being financially successful."
Well-being and happiness:
- "I choose to find the joy in every situation."
- "My happiness grows every day, as does my gratitude."
- "I am in harmony with myself and my environment."
Beauty and attraction:
- "I radiate from within and that reflects on the outside."
- "I appreciate my unique beauty and qualities."
- "I feel more attractive and confident every day."
When you use affirmations regularly, you 'programme' your Reticular Activation System (RAS) to be alert to opportunities and possibilities that match your affirmations. It's like giving your brain a filter through which it views the world. For example, if you often tell yourself that you are successful, your RAS is more likely to notice success-related opportunities and bring them to your consciousness.
As a result, you start seeing more opportunities to achieve your goals, because your brain is actively looking for information that matches your affirmations. It is a self-reinforcing process: your affirmations sharpen your attention, your attention helps you see more opportunities, and the opportunities you see (and seize) confirm and reinforce your affirmations. Thus, affirmations can help you focus on the positive and actively contribute to shaping your life.
